Kicking out Xenophobia 2nd Match

24-06-2010

Kicking out Xenophobia 2nd Match On 19 June 2010, Refugee 6 Foundation had their second ‘kicking out Xenophobia” awareness match where Refugee 6 played against Leeds United in Mitchells Plain.

The match was competitive at first but at the end, Refugee 6 showed Leeds United what the game soccer is all about! The opponents had to “give up” as Refugee 6 had a lot of skill and stamina to last them the whole game. At the end of it all, it was refugee 6 that came out victors of the match.

After the game, everyone headed to the Fifa Fan Jol in Tafelsig- Mitchells Plain. Here they got to watched a soccer match on big screen, where they admire and chanted the names of their favorite players.

In 2010 South Africa becomes the first African host of the FIFA World Cup football. Ironically there where the most loyal supporters live - in the townships - the facilities are the worst. To many clubs decent kits and a training field are unaffordable luxuries. Bafanakids.org gives you the chance to make a lasting difference that doesn’t stop when the World Cup does.
