Kicking out Xenophobia- Third Match

Kicking out Xenophobia- Third Match

24-06-2010

Kicking out Xenophobia- Third Match  On 22 June 2010 Refugee 6 played their third ‘kicking out xenophobia’ match against Lucky Stars U19 in Gugulethu.  The match was very intense as Lucky Stars was stiff competition for Refugee 6.

There were many people that came to support the campaign and the teams. After 90 minutes of intense soccer and a disappointing result for the Refugee VI,  did the teams get ready to head to Mzolis in Gugulethu. Mzolis was totally packed with hundreds of Bafana Bafana supporters, the national team that was playing their last match of the group stages in the Fifa World Cup 2010.

The 2 teams watched the match together, everyone shouted for Bafana Bafana and their favourite players. Everyone was happy with the way Bafana performed but was very sad that they did not go through to the next round.  After being sad that their team had lost, the teams quickly changed their mood and started dancing with eachother and the teams even taught eachother different styles of dancing. Everything was perfect! Food was great and the atmosphere was awesome.

Seems that there is a solution to kicking out Xenophobia, we all just need to step in and learn to love, tolerate and respect eachother as brothers and sisters!

Sponsor your team

In 2010 South Africa becomes the first African host of the FIFA World Cup football. Ironically there where the most loyal supporters live - in the townships - the facilities are the worst. To many clubs decent kits and a training field are unaffordable luxuries. Bafanakids.org gives you the chance to make a lasting difference that doesn’t stop when the World Cup does.
