SOWETO BACKPACKERS FC
The Soweto Backpackers FC have been sponsored by the Dutch travel programme “3 OP REIS” who visited the team in Soweto soon after they started their association in October 2009 .The soccer team started with the help of Lebo’s Backpackers in Soweto, who support social initiatives. The program 3 OP REIS filmed the team - with the resulting broadcast in the Netherlands in March 2010.
The Soweto Backpackers FC is the first sponsored team based in Joburg.
